On some Saturdays you'll find me in synagogue, but days like today, I needed to be one with the water.
Water is my calm
In the concrete jungle it is hard to find,
but I find it. 🙂
I used to give over words of inspiration to congregants on Saturday morning.
I did a bit of thinking out on the board today, and I wanted to share.
Aspirations come in many shapes and sizes.
Some are tangible some are not.
We reach a certain age and we forget how to PLAY, to DREAM, to even LAUGH.
Responsibilities, pressures, bosses, and schedules come first.
You are not JUST a mom, wife, sister, daughter, or friend.
However, you are allowed to make YOURSELF a priority.
Fill yourself up with what makes you HAPPY.
It will make you a better mom, wife, sister, daughter, or friend.
It's August 20, what have you been saying that you 'SHOULD do', but really need to say 'I WILL do?'
I'm thankful I bought a package of classes, because it made me ACCOUNTABLE to show up.
It's not that I'm dreading it, --- actually quite the opposite.
I was SMILING and LAUGHING the whole class.
And I THANKED the Sari that made this a priority early in the summer.
But I am human, things get in the way, responsibilities take over.
There are so many reasons why another SUMMER would go by, without learning this skill.
Have you been trying to find time to do something you LOVE? Something that takes your mind off the responsibilities and the weight of the world, that lies on your shoulders?
Whether you have been delaying reading that summer book, signing up for cooking class, carving out time for art, a bike ride, phone call to a long distance friend, or planning 'that trip' you want to take. DO IT! JUST DO IT!
We are not meant to pass through this life saying 'I SHOULD'. It needs to be 'I WILL.' I am curious, what is STILL on your list?
